The light version: turkey mince has little fat, oats bind instead of bread, and the sauce is only tinned tomato with garlic and plenty of basil.

Ingredients

Forserving
  • 150 gMinced turkey
  • 20 gRolled oats, fine
  • 30 gEgg, beaten (½ piece)
  • 30 gOnion
  • 200 gTinned tomatoes
  • 8 gOlive oil (2 tsp)
  • Garlic, basil, salt, pepper
  • 60 gPeas, frozen

How to make it

  1. Mix the turkey mince with the oats, egg, finely diced onion, salt and pepper, leave for ten minutes and shape into balls.
  2. Brown them all over in the oil.
  3. Add the tomatoes and garlic and simmer gently for 15 minutes.
  4. Shredded basil over the top.
  5. Add the peas to the sauce for the last five minutes.

One tip

Those ten minutes of rest let the oats swell, and then the balls do not fall apart.
