Like falafel, only from a tin and from the pan: the balls are not deep fried but cooked in a little oil. With a dip of soya yoghurt and lemon.

Ingredients

Forservings
  • 240 gChickpeas, drained
  • 40 gRolled oats
  • 40 gOnion
  • 15 gPlain flour (1 tbsp)
  • 15 gOlive oil (1 tbsp)
  • 100 gSoya yoghurt, plain
  • 10 gLemon juice (2 tsp)
  • Parsley, cumin, paprika, garlic, salt

How to make it

  1. Roughly mash the chickpeas with a fork or in a blender and mix with the oats, finely diced onion, garlic, parsley, spices and salt.
  2. Knead in the flour and chill for 20 minutes.
  3. With wet hands shape walnut-sized balls.
  4. Fry them in the oil over medium heat for eight minutes all over until brown.
  5. Stir the soya yoghurt with lemon, salt and garlic and serve alongside.

One tip

Do not mash too finely: whole pieces give the balls structure and bite.
