Tempeh has more protein than tofu and crisps in a pan like nothing else. With beans, soy sauce and chilli it is a vegan dish for building muscle.
Ingredients
Forserving
- 200 gTempeh
- 150 gGreen beans
- 40 gShallot
- 20 gSoy sauce
- 15 gCanola oil (1 tbsp)
- 8 gSugar (2 tsp)
- Garlic, ginger, chilli
- 60 gRed pepper
How to make it
- Cut the tempeh into cubes and fry it golden all over in the hot oil, then take it out.
- Fry the beans in the same pan with a splash of water for five minutes, until they still have bite.
- Add the shallot, garlic, ginger and chilli and fry for a minute.
- Tempeh back in, add the soy sauce and sugar, toss for a minute until everything gleams.
- Pepper strips into the pan with the beans.
One tip
Steam the tempeh in salted water for ten minutes before it goes in the pan, and it turns milder and takes up more sauce.
