Bulgogi means fire meat: paper-thin slices of beef in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and grated pear, which tenderises the meat. Two minutes in a hot pan.

Ingredients

Forservings
  • 300 gBeef, thin slices
  • 40 gSoy sauce (3 tbsp)
  • 10 gSesame oil (1 tbsp)
  • 10 gSugar (2 tsp)
  • 50 gPear, grated
  • 150 gRice, raw
  • 80 gCarrot
  • 100 gCucumber
  • 80 gKimchi
  • 10 gSesame seeds (2 tsp)
  • Garlic, spring onion, pepper

How to make it

  1. Marinate the meat in the soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, pear, garlic and pepper for thirty minutes.
  2. Cook the rice. Cut the carrot and cucumber into fine strips.
  3. Fry the meat in a very hot pan in two batches, two minutes each.
  4. Rice into bowls, meat, vegetables and kimchi on top, sesame and spring onion over it.

One tip

Slice the meat half frozen and the pieces come out thin enough.
