Shop-bought bars are sugar with oat decoration. These hold together with honey and peanut butter and sit in a tin for a week without anyone reading the label.
Ingredients
Forbars
- 200 gRolled oats
- 80 gHoney
- 80 gPeanut butter
- 50 gAlmonds, chopped
- 50 gCranberries, dried
- 20 gCoconut oil
- A pinch of salt
How to make it
- Toast the oats and almonds in a dry pan for five minutes, until they smell of themselves.
- Warm the honey, peanut butter, coconut oil and salt in a pot and stir smooth.
- Stir in the oats, almonds and cranberries and press the mixture firmly and flat into a lined tin.
- Chill for an hour, then cut into eight bars.
One tip
Pressing firmly is the whole trick. Loosely pressed bars fall apart as you cut them.
