Millet was the grain before oats arrived. It cooks in twenty minutes into a porridge that tastes nuttier and keeps you full longer.

Ingredients

Forserving
  • 60 gMillet
  • 200 mlMilk
  • 20 gRaisins
  • 15 gCranberries, dried
  • 10 gHoney (1 tsp)
  • Cinnamon, pinch of salt, 100 ml water

How to make it

  1. Rinse the millet in hot water, bring it to the boil with the milk, water and salt.
  2. Let it swell over low heat for twenty minutes, stirring now and then, adding the raisins for the last five.
  3. Serve with the honey, cinnamon and cranberries.

One tip

Rinsing takes the bitterness out of the millet. Do not skip it.
