The Cobb salad was invented in Hollywood out of leftovers and laid out in rows so you can see what is in it. It is a whole dinner on one plate.

  • 200 gRomaine lettuce
  • 200 gChicken breast
  • 100 gEggs (2 piece)
  • 30 gStreaky bacon (2 slices)
  • 100 gAvocado (1 piece)
  • 150 gTomatoes
  • 40 gBlue cheese
  • 30 gRed onion
  • 10 gOlive oil (1 tbsp)
  • 10 gVinegar (2 tsp)
  • Mustard, salt, pepper

How to make it

  1. Hard-boil the eggs for ten minutes. Fry the bacon crisp. Fry the chicken in the bacon fat for five minutes a side and cut it into strips.
  2. Shredded salad onto two plates, then in rows: chicken, quartered egg, crumbled bacon, avocado, tomato, cheese, onion.
  3. Whisk the oil, vinegar, mustard, salt and pepper and drizzle it over.

One tip

The rows are tradition. Mixed it tastes the same.
